KeywordSpy – Unbiased Review
November 20, 2007
KeywordSpy, isn’t it best name for an Advanced Keyword Research Tool that helps you peek into the avant-garde keywords your top competitors are earning from? Maybe yes, maybe not. But sounds just fine to me.
There are a lot of Keyword Tools available now, SEMRush, Adgooroo, Spyfu just to name a few. For KeywordSpy, as it has evolved over a period of time, its tool is quite useful for use in Adword PPC campaign as the tool shows you more or less the keyword strategies of your competitors specially the keywords they are bidding on. Others may use the keyword tool for their AdSense campaign or for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) since you are able to check organic listings of specific websites and the keywords it’s optimizing using KeywordSpy.
Most of the keyword tools have these functionalities available but KeywordSpy claims that they have the biggest Keyword Database and has a more user friendly fast loading website. I’ve used the tool personally and yes, loading time is fast as compared to other keyword tools but keyword accuracy, i’d say only 60-75% out of all the keywords that you download.
Now, besides keyword listings, KeywordSpy is already offering other services such us Real Time Keyword Tracking and some other added services useful for your ad campaign. Not sure how effective this could be cause the price is not that cheap. I think it will mainly depend on your needs as an advertiser.
The other thing that KeywordSpy has on its tool is the Affiliate Marketing Intelligence which will be helpful for affiliates if they launch an Ad Campaign to sell or promote other products. One can easily replicate the ad campaign of the other affiliates including the keywords it’s using and its ad variations. Have i mentioned the Time Machine? Time Machine from KeywordSpy is another tool you can use to check competitor’s previous Ad Campaigns. Whether you study the advertising pattern of your competitors or you just want to do it for fun, it’s there for you to use.
To wrap it up, i think KeywordSpy is a decent tool for online advertisers with a budget. For others who may have a limited budget, there are other tools that will suit for you. Spyfu or SEMRush for example or even WordTracker.
