SEMRush – What’s Inside?
In my last post, i mentioned about the good stuff SEMRush has. For this post which i consider as a continuation from the last, i’d like to show you what’s inside SEMRush and how it can benefit its prospect users. I’ll use microsoft .com as an example.
When you go to semrush.com and load its page, the one thing that’s visible right away is its search box. Most of the Keyword Tools normally position their search box on the top part. And one thing I like SEMRush is, it gives you the information of what you are about to see. Hence you get to understand most of the things as you navigate your way from the time you do your search until you download the Keyword Reports made available for the users.
Let’s start now by entering the domain, Microsoft.com would be our example. You can see in the search field Microsoft.com. If not please put on your reading glassess…
Now let’s look at each Keyword Report loaded on our screen. The first report is for the Organic Keywords. What we expect to see from this report is the Rank of the domain, the estimated Google Traffic and Price. We will also see the total number of keywords and the related stats for each keyword. How can you use these keywords? Well, you can scatter the keywords in your web contents, place it as tags or you may also use it in your PPC campaign if you like.
The second report in Organic column is Competitor List. With this report, you can see that number of competitors sharing the same keywords with the domain being searched. Some stats are also available for this report. How will this report benefit you? The great thing about this report is it shows you who your competitors are and the general performance of their Organic Campaign. So, you only have to look at those competitors with higher stats and check which of their campaigns you want to replicate.
The other Report from the Organic section is the Common Keywords. You can view this report when you click on any of the competitors in the Common Keywords column. This is I think the best report of all as you can compare the stats of the domain your searched for and the stats of the other domains (Competitors) that SEMRush has found. You can do a side by side comparison of two competitor domains. Interesting isn’t it? This report is also made available by SEMRush in the PPC Keyword Reports.
The last report in our Organic column is the Organic to Adwords Competition report. What you will be able to extract from this report are the competitors that use Organic Keywords for their PPC Campaign. So not only the Adwords Keywords returned by SEMRush are the ones that can be used to start an Ad campaign with Google, Yahoo or Microsoft but also the Organic Keywords.
Going individually to the reports we have under PPC Keywords column, the first one we have is the report for Adwords Keywords. The keywords under this report can be used mainly to create a PPC Ad Campaign in Google, Yahoo or Microsoft. I’ll write another article how to do this one. It will also allow you to see the number of keywords SEMRush has picked up and some valuable stats for each keyword.
The second report in our PPC keyword column is the Competitors in Adwords report. In here you will see quickly the total number of competitors SEMRush has collected and some stats relating to the performance of each competitor. The Common Keywords Report can also be viewed here. Just click on any of the competitor in the Common Keywords column and you will be able to automatically compare the two competitor domains.
The last report in our PPC column is the Organic to Adwords Competition report. What you will be able to extract from this report are the competitors that use PPC Keywords for their Organic Ad Listings. So not only the Organic Keywords returned by SEMRush are the ones that can be used for Organic Listings but also the PPC keywords.
As you can see, there is lots of stuff SEMRush has to offer if we just talk about information. For the price of about a dollar a day, I think you are in the right track of getting the most out of what you’re paying for. I would personally recommend SEMRush for delivering a great and affordable product. Road test SEMRush now!
KeywordSpy – What’s New?
KeywordSpy today has unvieled new functionalities packed in a new Tab called Overview. The new overview tab from KeywordSpy resembles Spyfu’s result page but looks a lot better.
What the Overview tab does is, it summarizes the stats of a particular domain in a single page. Read More…
Adgooroo vs. KeywordSpy – The Real Rivals?
If we look back 3-4 years, we could only see a few Keyword Tools which one can use to make his keyword researching or SEO works a bit more easy. Google by that time was just startng to reap the benefit of the niche it has found in Online Advertising through its Adwords system.
Now, as i check closely each Keyword Tracking Tool, Keyword Research Tool or whatever one would call it, i noticed that it’s KeywordSpy and Adgooroo that are in stiff competition offering almost the same type of services with its tool designed mainly for PPC … Read More
The Rise of SEMRush – A Keyword Tool with simplicity and with a more refined PPC and Organic Keywords
I was scouring the web using Google Search last couple of days as i was trying to do a bit of Keyword Research and I accidentally stumbled upon a website called SEMRush.com.
With much curiosity I signed up for a Free Membership and just tried to browse over its pages. Few things I noticed about the site while I was trying to discovery more of its good stuff.
First thing i want to highlight is that, SEMRush is the evolution of SEODigger which is made better with more kick ass keywords.
Secondly, simplicity from SEODigger was carried on to SEMRush with a straight forward 3 step operation. You enter the domain, download the keyword reports, then copy and paste keywords to your Adwords Campaigns, Yahoo or Microsoft AdCenter.
Next point is Keywords from SEMrush are more filtered and refined. Once you generate the Keywords all you need to do is select from the variety of Keyword Reports and Walla! You’re good to go. No need to drop rubbish keywords from the Keyword List you just downloaded.
What else? Well, price is an obvious thing if you compare SEMRush with other Keyword Tools. For only $0.65 cents a day or $1.65 for SEMRush’s Pro subscription (just incase you’ll need more Keyword download Power), you’ll get the most of your money. If you need more Power, go for the enterprise. As for me, SEMRush Pro would already be good enough for my needs.
If not for SEMRush’s Proactive support, I wouldn’t have subscribed to their service. Why? It’s because Support is a big factor. It needs to be available anytime you need. Just imagine yourself not being able to login to your account after you subscribed. You know what I mean?
Lastly, Site navigation and simplicity is something you would want to consider as well. I’m very particular with this, as I don’t want to waste time to learn how to navigate from one page to another. Do you? It’s just a waste of time isn’t?
Oh before I forgot. Check out SEMRush’s Rank and Informer section. Some extras from SEMRush you may find useful later on. I did, so I’m sure you will as well.
To sum it all, I can easily give SEMRush a Two Thumbs up for a great and affordable product. Drive test SEMRush now. You can try it for FREE initially. SEMRush.com…
KeywordSpy – Unbiased Review
KeywordSpy, isn’t it best name for an Advanced Keyword Research Tool that helps you peek into the avant-garde keywords your top competitors are earning from? Maybe yes, maybe not. But sounds just fine to me.
There are a lot of Keyword Tools available now, SEMRush, Adgooroo, Spyfu just to name a few. For KeywordSpy, as it has evolved over a period of time, its tool is quite useful for use in Adword PPC campaign as the tool shows you more or less the keyword strategies of your competitors specially the keywords they are bidding on. Others may use the keyword tool for their AdSense campaign or for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) since you are able to check organic listings of specific websites and the keywords it’s optimizing using KeywordSpy.
Most of the keyword tools have these functionalities available but KeywordSpy claims that they have the biggest Keyword Database and has a more user friendly fast loading website. I’ve used the tool personally and yes, loading time is fast as compared to other keyword tools but keyword accuracy, i’d say only 60-75% out of all the keywords that you download.
Now, besides keyword listings, KeywordSpy is already offering other services such us Real Time Keyword Tracking and some other added services useful for your ad campaign. Not sure how effective this could be cause the price is not that cheap. I think it will mainly depend on your needs as an advertiser.
The other thing that KeywordSpy has on its tool is the Affiliate Marketing Intelligence which will be helpful for affiliates if they launch an Ad Campaign to sell or promote other products. One can easily replicate the ad campaign of the other affiliates including the keywords it’s using and its ad variations. Have i mentioned the Time Machine? Time Machine from KeywordSpy is another tool you can use to check competitor’s previous Ad Campaigns. Whether you study the advertising pattern of your competitors or you just want to do it for fun, it’s there for you to use.
To wrap it up, i think KeywordSpy is a decent tool for online advertisers with a budget. For others who may have a limited budget, there are other tools that will suit for you. Spyfu or SEMRush for example or even WordTracker.
Spyfu vs. KeywordSpy – Unbiased Review
Today with the Internet becoming a so popular, companies and internet entrepreneurs nowadays are eager to promote their products via the web making online advertising a billion dollar business with Google leading the way with up to 70-80% market share. Most people would refer advertising over the internet as Search Engine Marketing or SEM.
The success of an Ad being seen and noticed by viewers around the world though will depend on the keywords and ad variations one would implore. With that need, Keyword Tools such as from KeywordSpy and Spyfu have become available.
Let’s have a quick review of the two well known Keyword Tracking Tools you may be using in the future … Read More
KeywordSpy vs. KeyCompete
During KeywordSpy’s initial launched, there were claims that the well-known KeywordSpy is a reseller of KeyCompete. To check the veracity of the alleged buzz, I decided to signed-up for both systems and compared their respective services. After a series of tests, I boldly claim via this post that KeywordSpy is way way better than KeyCompete.
For those who are dying to disagreement with my claim, give me some minutes to explain.
Both tools let you search either by domain or by keyword. So, you may take a peep on what keywords a particular site is bidding on, or alternatively you may see what sites are bidding on a particular set of keywords.
First, I used both systems to search for top advertisers of the keyword “tents” and grabbed their keywords lists. I produced a list of about 8,000 from KeyCompete and another 8,000 for KeywordSpy and stopped because I have this short attention span. Well, anyways, I imported my keywords, setup my campaign in AdWords, sat back, and waited for results. I am happy to report that in just weeks, I tripled my ROI with the keyword list I made with KeywordSpy while those I chose from KeyCompete seem to be rubbish. As far as business goes, KeywordSpy is really brilliant.
Also, if you are to test the KeyCompete service using your own domains or websites, you will surely conclude that many of their results are equally short and inaccurate. Add to that, its pricing scheme by subdomain is outrageous.
Moreover, when I get all my assumed “competitors’ keywords” from KeyCompete, there is no way for me to know whether they are really good keywords. Their “Column Rating” feature is an underdog, compare to KeywordSpy’s Ad Ranking, PPC and Competitors Count features. Man, no way for you to get totally accurate reports with KeyCompete.
And this is what killed me — their e-mail support! The KeyCompete support took a week to reply to my question and the answer is a galaxy away from my question, and it seems that the reply have just been a copy-pasted portion of texts from their website. The KeywordSpy Team, on the other hand, is very helpful and knowledgeable to deal with. They even appreciate the feature suggestions I made. They now have the pie and bar graphs that represent the PPC Summary or competition level among certain regions. And not only that, they also have Affiliates Search Engine, Time Machine, Keyword Tracking and the Overview Tab which they launched just recently. Everything for the price of one.
So this post is a cautionary reminder to everyone, I have found no better service from KeyCompete. Yes, subscription price is more than half less than KeywordSpy. But then KeyCompete’s pricing goes hand-in-hand with their service — less and well… poor.

KeywordSpy vs. Wordtracker
Dozens of keyword tools proliferated nowadays in the market, but two of the most talked and raging in SEO forums and blogs are KeywordSpy and Wordtracker.
To gauge these tools’ individual potential, I subscribed to them and did a couple of tests and runs to prove their worth in keyword research. Allow me to enumerate the things I found out.
Obviously, the monthly subscription for Wordtracker … Read More
SEO vs. PPC
These following acronyms are probably two of the most important terms in the world of Internet advertising: PPC and SEO.
First we have PPC. This is also called CPC. This stands for Pay Per Click or Cost Per Click advertising. In other words you are paying each time someone clicks on your link. The second term, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of building a website that is search engine friendly. Search engine friendly means that Google can find your site and once found it will know what the major keyword points you are trying to make. Also it will determine when to show your URL to prospective web surfers based on your keywords. There are many other search engines but Google is largest for the moment so you should optimize your site for them.
If you are a small business person with limited funds which program should you do PPC or SEO? My answer is both.
A PPC program from Overture or Google is a relatively quick traffic generator. You give those companies your keywords and if those keywords have any traffic at all you will get some visitors. This type of program can be up and running within 24 hours. The huge advantage of the PPC program is the uptime speed and quantity of targeted traffic.
A SEO program is extremely slow and very tedious to get going. If you don’t know what you are doing it can cost upwards of $3,000 to have your site optimized.
The good news about a SEO program is that you can learn how to optimize your site yourself. It takes trial and error to see what is working. It also takes knowledge of how search engines work to get them going correctly. You need to have time and patience to give your SEO program a chance to work.
There is no doubt that for immediate results the PPC route is clearly the way to go. You will get immediate results. There are lots of keyword research tools you can use to aid you with your keyword research. The one i have been using since then is a keyword tool from KeywordSpy. It easily gives you your competitors’ keywords. Tested and optimized competitors’ keywords. This tool not only offers you your competitors’ keywords but also got a bunch of other features like some advance graphs that would help you answer the how, where and when in online advertising.
The good thing about KeywordSpy is that, they offer a free trial. If your a small advertiser, you may be able to start a small ad campaign using the free trial access. Check out KeywordSpy’s video here;
